This is Northumberland

This is Northumberland is an annual, collaborative publication aiming to tell the remarkable stories behind the people, places, and independent enterprises of Northumberland.

The project has been formulated by a group of talented North-East creatives who have carefully curated a range of articles and features within the publication to offer a diverse range of content for you to enjoy and utilise on your journey around England’s most northerly county.

The team aims to share content that is useful, distinctive, and informative as well as digging a little deeper and putting a spotlight on themes rarely explored. Within 2022 you’ll find a mix of stories, interviews, features, and detailed roundups - all of which include helpful information supplemented with stunning photography.

The book is beautifully printed and of high quality, but intended for rigorous use and to become a point of reference for future discovery. The final product will be approximately 14o pages in length, perfect bound, and printed on 140gsm uncoated FSC approved paper within a fully carbon-neutral printing house.

We’re delighted that the project will align with Northumberland 250’s sustainability values and have pledged to donate 50p from every copy sold to Kielderhead Wildwood - an inspiring wilding project planting trees across vast swathes of the Scaup Burn leading all the way to the Scottish Border.

In Issue 1, Northumberland 250 have been lucky enough to team up with the brilliant @somewherewilder gang, who were amongst the first to test-drive the #nland250 driving route which launched earlier this Summer. You will be able to discover more about Leo, Frida, Henry & Wally’s experience of the adventure driving route later this year when the publication is planned for release.
