Kielder Water

& Forest Park

Holding an almost inconceivable 200 billion litres of water, Kielder is the largest man-made body of water in the United Kingdom. The reservoir was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1982 and took a further 2 years for the Lake to fill to the levels you see today. Surrounding the water you will discover a superb network of trails for cyclists, walkers, horse riders and wheelchair users.
